Fiorentina have reportedly lodged a £3m bid for Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov.
The Mirror suggests that the Bulgarian held talks with manager Sir Alex Ferguson after Robin van Persie completed his £24m transfer.
It appears that Ferguson is now ready to let Berbatov leave Old Trafford after a summer of uncertainty, with Firoentina favourite to secure the 31-year-old's signature.
Berbatov is now believed to be discussing personal terms with the Italian club, with a two-year deal on the table for the former Tottenham Hotspur striker.
Sunderland have also made an enquiry for Berbatov recently, according to reports.
