Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing Sporting Lisbon teenager Geovany Quenda.
The 17-year-old made the move to Sporting in 2021, and he progressed through the youth system at the club before making his debut in August 2024.
Quenda has now made 10 appearances for his Portuguese side during the 2024-25 campaign, scoring once and providing one assist in the process, and it is understood that he has caught the eye of a number of major clubs.
According to Fichajes, Man United are keen on the teenager, with the 20-time English champions closely monitoring his performances in the early stages of the 2024-25 campaign.
The report claims that the Red Devils view him as a 'potential future star of world football' and are ready to step up their interest in a bid to win the race for his services.
Man United 'firmly in the race for Sporting teenager'
Quenda had an impressive record of nine goals and seven assists in 24 appearances for Sporting Under-23s, and he primarily operates as a right-sided attacker.
Sporting have him on a contract until June 2027 but are likely to find it incredibly difficult to keep hold of him on a long-term basis due to the growing interest in his services.
Quenda has helped Sporting win all seven of their league matches this season, while he has also started both of their games in the new-look Champions League.
On Tuesday night, the attacker featured for the full 90 minutes of the 1-1 draw against PSV Eindhoven, establishing himself as a vital part of the team despite the fact that he will not be 18 until next April.
Man United have a close relationship with Sporting
Man United have famously signed Cristiano Ronaldo, Nani and Bruno Fernandes from Sporting, and they could be about to add another player to their squad from the Portuguese giants.
Ronaldo went on to achieve incredible things at Old Trafford, while Nani also had a successful career at Old Trafford, managing 41 goals and 70 assists in 230 matches in all competitions.
Fernandes is the most recent of the arrivals from Sporting, moving to the club in early 2020, and he has been one of the club's best signings in recent history.
The 30-year-old, who is the club captain, has scored 79 goals and registered 70 assists in 242 appearances for the Red Devils in all competitions, but he has struggled to find his best form in the early stages of this campaign. body check tags ::
