A report claims that Timothy Fosu-Mensah has agreed to sign a new four-year deal at Manchester United, worth around £25,000 a week.

Manchester United have reportedly handed talented full-back Timothy Fosu-Mensah a new deal worth £5.2m, which he will sign following the international break.

The 18-year-old, whose current contract was due to expire next summer - therefore allowing him to speak to other clubs in January - is said to have agreed a four-year contract to stay at Old Trafford for the long term.

Fosu-Mensah has been restricted to just EFL Cup and Europa League appearances so far this season, but Jose Mourinho rates the defender highly and has decided against loaning him out, with Matteo Darmian instead the player most likely to make way.

The Sun claims that the Dutchman will get a pay-rise to £25,000 a week after breaking through to the first-team squad under Louis van Gaal, and an announcement will officially be made later this month once club football resumes.

Antonio Valencia is the man currently ahead of Fosu-Mensah in the United pecking order, having started all seven Premier League games so far this season.
