Fred has revealed that he will consider his future during this summer's transfer window, with the midfielder currently being linked with a move away from Manchester United.

The 30-year-old was again a regular for the Red Devils during the 2022-23 campaign, featuring on 56 occasions in all competitions, scoring six goals and registering six assists in the process.

Fred started Saturday's FA Cup final against Manchester City, which Man United lost 2-1, with the absences of Antony and Anthony Martial opening the door for him to be included in the XI.

However, the Brazil international only started 12 Premier League matches this season, with the likes of Casemiro, Bruno Fernandes and Christian Eriksen ahead of him in the pecking order.

Fred only has a year left to run on his deal in Manchester, and Fulham are allegedly keen to sign him during this summer's transfer window, with Cottagers head coach Marco Silva said to be pushing for a deal.

The South American has admitted that there is some doubt surrounding his future, and he is preparing to hold transfer talks with Man United this summer.

"Of course I always want to be playing, to be helping my team, and gladly today I started, and I think we played well," Fred told TNT Sports after the FA Cup final.

"I still don't know, I have to talk with my family. I still have one year left on my contract here. Now it's holiday time and a good opportunity to rest. I'll talk to my staff, to the club, and see what everyone's decision is.

"I do have to talk with Ten Hag as well; he's the manager, and the conversation has to involve everyone. We have to see how next season will play out. I want to be important; I want to help the team, so we'll see. But I've always been and still am very happy at Manchester United."

Fred arrived at Old Trafford from Shakhtar Donetsk in the summer of 2018, and he has represented the Red Devils on 213 occasions in all competitions, contributing 14 goals and 19 assists.

Last week, the midfielder revealed that he was frustrated with his lack of starts this season.

Man United are believed to be considering allowing Fred to leave this summer, with the club keen to bring another central midfielder to the club in the upcoming market.

Mason Mount is currently being heavily linked with a switch to Old Trafford from Chelsea, while West Ham United's Declan Rice is also believed to be a leading target.

Scott McTominay is also being linked with a move away from Man United, with Newcastle United thought to lead the interest in the Scotland international. body check tags ::
