Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong is reportedly in conflict with his agent about his future.
The Dutchman has been linked with a move away from Barcelona this summer, with Manchester United and Chelsea credited with showing an interest.
Erik ten Hag's side have been leading the race for the 25-year-old as they look to strengthen their midfield following the departures of Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic, while Chelsea are prepared to match United's offer.
A recent report suggested that Barcelona could be forced into selling De Jong in a bid to free up space on the wage bill after La Liga rejected their attempts to register their new signings.
However, according to The Sun, the Netherlands international is keen to remain at Camp Nou even on a reduced salary, which has resulted in a disagreement between the player and his agent.
De Jong's agent believes that his client should leave the Catalan giants over the deferred wages he is owed, which are reportedly between £14m and £17m.
Barcelona reached an agreement two years ago with De Jong to defer a proportion of his salary to help the club during the coronavirus pandemic.
The midfielder could feature in Barcelona's pre-season friendly against Pumas, which is scheduled to take place at Camp Nou on Monday. body check tags ::
