Fulham have reportedly failed with an attempt to sign Fluminense midfielder Andre in the latter stages of the January transfer window.
The Brazil international's future has been the subject of much speculation, with a number of Premier League clubs said to be interested in securing his signature.
Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal have all been linked with the midfielder, but Fulham appear to have moved to the head of the queue for his services in recent weeks.
According to FootballTransfers, Marco Silva's side have had a late proposal for the South American 'knocked back', and he will now remain with Fluminense until at least the summer.
The report claims that his Brazilian club were not happy with the package that had been offered, and it is unclear whether Fulham will reignite their interest during this summer's transfer window.
Fluminense president Mario Bittencourt recently said that Liverpool made an offer for Andre last summer.
"We had an offer for Andre of €30m (£25.6m) from Liverpool and we said 'no' because we had agreed with the player that we wouldn't sell him because we wanted to win the Libertadores," he told reporters.
"Since then, we've had a second offer, from an English club, for well under €30m (£25.6m), which we turned down because we felt it was below what Fluminense expects for the player.
"The situation doesn't worry us because the relationship with Andre and Carlos Leite (the player's agent) is very good. They both agreed to stay and both understood that he has to go somewhere he wants to go."
Andre, who has also been linked with Barcelona, has scored four goals and registered three assists in 170 appearances in all competitions for his current side.
The midfielder is also a part of the Brazil set-up, earning four caps for the national side, with his last appearance coming against Argentina in November 2023.
Andre recently revealed that he wants to play in the Premier League, telling Premier League Brasil: "I watch the Premier League and it's a big dream to play there one day.
"I'm focused on finishing the season at Fluminense and realising my dream of winning the Club World Cup. But my dream is clear, to be a Premier League player."
Andre helped Fluminense win the Copa Libertadores last year, with Tricolor beating Boca Juniors 2-1 in the final of the competition.
