Manchester United midfielder Hannibal Mejbri is reportedly closing in on loan move to Birmingham City.

The 19-year-old has made three appearances for the Red Devils in his career, while he has only featured once in a United starting lineup.

Hannibal has not been involved in any of Erik ten Hag's matchday squads this season, and as a result, he is set to leave the club on loan to continue his development.

According to Manchester Evening News, Hannibal is set to join Championship side Birmingham City on a season-long loan deal.

The report indicates that the Tunisia international has become frustrated over the time taken to complete the loan exit.

Part of the reason for the delay is due to United offering Hannibal a contract extension before he leaves the club for the 2022-23 season.

There have also been delays in agreeing the wage split between Birmingham and United for Hannibal's long spell, as well as guarantees about playing time. body check tags ::
