Ander Herrera has insisted that he is happy to remain at Basque outfit Athletic Bilbao.
The Spanish midfielder was widely linked with a move to Manchester United in the summer, but the switch broke down at the final moment due to the Red Devils' unwillingness to pay his full release clause.
It has been suggested that the Premier League champions will return in January, but Herrera has played down reports of a move to England.
"I'm not going to talk about Manchester United anymore, it doesn't help anything. I've already explained the situation. I feel good here, like I've always said and I'm going to continue with Athletic," he told reporters at a press conference.
"Renewal? Why wouldn't I listen? The club hasn't yet taken the plunge. I am hopeful and very happy with everything at Athletic.
"I have two-and-a-half years left on my contract and I'm not worried, there's still time."
Herrera's current release clause stands in the region of £30m.
