Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic could reportedly leave the club before Wednesday's transfer deadline amid interest from MLS side Los Angeles Galaxy.
The 36-year-old returned from a serious knee injury ahead of schedule in November, but has since suffered a setback in his recovery and his missed the club's last six matches as a result.
Ibrahimovic has been limited to only two starts and just seven appearances overall across all competitions this season, and his first-team chances are likely to be further affected by the January arrival of Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal.
The former Sweden international was United's top-scorer last season with 28 goals in all competitions, but he could now bring a premature end to his Old Trafford career before the end of the month.
Ibrahimovic would need to take a significant pay cut if he were to complete the move, but ESPN reports that LA Galaxy are in advanced negotiations with the veteran striker, who has been linked with an MLS switch on numerous occasions in the past.
The Galaxy reportedly plan to use targeted allocation money to sign Ibrahimovic, meaning that he would not take up a designated player spot.
