Andres Iniesta has reiterated that he wants to sign a new long-term contract with Barcelona.
Despite the Catalan outfit's sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta claiming that a new deal was close, some reports in Spain have suggested that the Spaniard could seek pastures new at the end of the season.
However, Iniesta, who has been linked with Manchester United, has insisted that his "desire" is to remain with the Spanish champions.
"It would great news [if I could sign soon]," he told Cuatro. "My desire, and the club's desire is what it is.
"If it happens before Christmas, that would be perfect, and if not, then that's fine. I have a single goal, and I want to continue where I am."
Iniesta's current deal expires in 2015.
