Inter Milan are reportedly preparing to offer Manchester United the chance to sign Ivan Perisic as part of a deal for Chris Smalling.
Perisic enjoyed an impressive 2019-20 campaign on loan with Bayern Munich, but the Croatia international has since returned to San Siro.
The 2018 World Cup finalist is not believed to be in the plans of Inter boss Antonio Conte moving forward, and according to FCInterNews, the Italian giants are willing to offer the experienced attacker to United as a makeweight in a deal for Smalling.
The Englishman excelled during a loan spell at Roma last season, and the Serie A outfit have said on a number of occasions that they want to sign him on a permanent deal this summer.
Roma are struggling to come to an agreement with the Red Devils over a fee, though, and Inter could allegedly now swoop in to land the 30-year-old before the transfer window closes.
Smalling is currently training away from the first-team squad at United as the speculation surrounding his future continues to gather pace.
