Bayern Munich midfielder Jamal Musiala has dropped a hint about his future at the club, with contract talks said to be ongoing between the two parties.
According to WhoScored, only Lamine Yamal has a higher average rating in Europe's top-five leagues among players aged 21 and under so far this season.
Musiala has been Bayern's highest rated in four of their last five matches too, and across the entire season, he already has 12 goal involvements in 14 matches.
Reports emerged last month that Bayern had entered talks with the 21-year-old over a new contract, with the German international's deal at the Allianz Arena set to expire in 18 months' time.
Unsurprisingly though, his impending expiring contract is attracting interest from all of Europe's biggest clubs, with Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool, Real Madrid and Chelsea all having been linked.
Musiala coy about current contract talks
Musiala is currently away on international duty with Germany this week, meaning his club have less control about what sort of comments can leak out into the press.
Speaking ahead of Die Mannschaft's UEFA Nations League fixtures with Bosnia-Herzegovina and Hungary, the youngster was still reluctant to give much away about whether talks have progressed on a new deal though.
Musiala told the press: "Signing a new deal at Bayern or not? I can't say much about the contract topic. My focus is on the DFB [Germany] team and I want to concentrate on the international matches for now".
One thing that Musiala did disclose was an unsurprising quip about his current thoughts on being at Bayern, stating: "I'm happy in Munich, I can say that."
Musiala remains tight-lipped over future
This is not the first time in recent weeks that this question has been presented to Musiala, and the young midfielder remains unwilling to give much away.
Musiala confirmed to Sky Germany last month that he is in talks over a new deal, but refuses to speak on how much progress has been made.
Speaking to the press before their clash with Mainz last month, Musiala stated: "I think it's better to keep a bit of mystery, but I have to say I'm really happy. I hope you see too that I'm happy here. There's not much to say now."
Musiala is set to feature for Germany against Bosnia in Freiburg on Saturday, as Julian Nagelsmann's side need just a point to be assured of top spot in Group A3 of the Nations League. body check tags ::
