Real Madrid midfielder James Rodriguez has reportedly been offered to Liverpool for €75m (£66m) by the player's agent.
Rodriguez is widely expected to leave the Spanish and European champions this summer in search of more regular first-team football, having started just 13 games in Madrid's title-winning La Liga campaign last season.
A number of Europe's top clubs have been credited with an interest in the 25-year-old, including the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus and Inter Milan.
Sport now claims that Liverpool have also been approached by the player's agent Jorge Mendes as he looks for potential suitors.
However, Jurgen Klopp's side are unwilling to pay Madrid's £66m asking price, having prioritised a more defence-minded midfielder and a defender during the current transfer window.
Madrid, meanwhile, are understood to be on the verge of signing Dani Ceballos from Real Betis, which would further limit the first-team opportunities available to Rodriguez.
