Jose Mourinho 'keen to bring Jadon Sancho to Roma'

Roma head coach Jose Mourinho wants his club to sign Manchester United attacker Jadon Sancho in January, according to a report.

Roma head coach Jose Mourinho is reportedly keen for his club to sign Manchester United attacker Jadon Sancho during the January transfer window.

The 23-year-old is not currently a part of the first-team set-up at Old Trafford due to his public falling-out with Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag following the Arsenal game earlier this month.

Ten Hag said that Sancho had been left out against the Gunners due to some poor performances in training, but the attacker insisted that was not the case in a post on social media.

The England international is not training with the first team or being considered for selection, while it is understood that he has been banished from all first-team facilities at the training ground.

Ten Hag will allegedly not be backing down, meaning that Sancho will have to apologise in order to stand a chance of being introduced back into the senior set-up.

However, the forward is also believed to be holding his position, meaning that he might have played his last game for the club.

There remain rumours surrounding a possible January exit, with a number of clubs believed to be keeping a close eye on the events at Old Trafford.

According to Il Romanista, Roma boss Mourinho is keen to take advantage of the situation and is urging his club to move for the former Manchester City youngster at the start of 2024.

The report claims that Mourinho wants Sancho to be signed 'at all costs', with the Portuguese confident that he can get the best out of the forward.

Sancho featured off the bench in Man United's first three matches of the new Premier League campaign against Wolverhampton Wanderers, Tottenham Hotspur and Nottingham Forest.

The forward was then left out altogether against Arsenal and has since been absent for the league matches with Brighton & Hove Albion and Burnley.

Sancho also missed the team's Champions League group-stage opener against Bayern Munich, in addition to the EFL Cup third-round contest with Crystal Palace.

The attacker, who has another three years left to run on his contract at Old Trafford, has found it difficult to make his mark at Man United, only managing 12 goals and six assists in 82 appearances.

However, he was one of the most in-demand players in Europe during his time at Borussia Dortmund, scoring 50 goals and registering 64 assists in 137 appearances in all competitions. body check tags ::
