Harry Kane will reportedly resume contract talks with Tottenham Hotspur once the North London giants have appointed a new head coach.

The 29-year-old's current deal at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is due to expire next summer, and there is currently a host of speculation surrounding his future with Spurs.

Both Manchester United and Bayern Munich are believed to be determined to sign the England captain, who has scored 25 goals and registered four assists in 42 matches at club level this term.

However, Spurs seemingly remain determined to keep hold of the striker, with the club's chairman Daniel Levy said to be unwilling to let him move to a domestic rival in a huge blow to Man United.

According to 90min, both Kane and Tottenham are willing to delay talks over a potential new contact until a new head coach has been appointed.

Antonio Conte left Spurs at the end of March, with Cristian Stellini currently in charge of the club on an interim basis while the search for a permanent head coach continues.

Stellini has won one, drawn one and lost one of his three games at the helm, including Saturday's 3-2 defeat at home to Bournemouth in the Premier League.

The shock loss to the Cherries has left the capital outfit in fifth position in the table, three points behind fourth-placed Man United, who have two games in hand.

Vincent Kompany, who has led Burnley back to the Premier League at the first time of asking, is allegedly being seriously considered as Conte's replacement.

Meanwhile, Mauricio Pochettino, Brendan Rodgers and Julian Nagelsmann are also being linked with the vacant role at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Spurs would find it difficult to convince Kane to sign another long-term deal if they are unable to secure Champions League football for the 2023-24 campaign.

Man United are believed to be prepared to pay as much as £100m for Kane, who has recently become both Tottenham and England's all-time leading goalscorer.

The Red Devils and Bayern are thought to be the only realistic contenders to sign the forward in the upcoming market, and it remains to be seen if the Bundesliga champions are prepared to pay the amount that would be required to secure his signature.

Kane has netted 23 times in the Premier League this season but drew a blank against Bournemouth on Saturday, which ended a four-game scoring run in England's top flight. body check tags ::
