Manchester City skipper Vincent Kompany has called on the club to strengthen in the summer if they are to challenge for the Premier League title next season.
City saw rivals Manchester United claim the title with ease last season, but the Belgian defender believes that a number of clubs will be in the mix in the new campaign.
"I've seen every single club strengthen every season. Teams can come from nowhere and win the league," he told The Sun.
"You cannot rule out Liverpool, Tottenham and even Everton were really good this year.
"Then you have the usuals like Arsenal, Chelsea and United. But there is a chance to strengthen our team and compete again for the league."
Malaga boss Manuel Pellegrini is expected to replace Roberto Mancini at the Etihad Stadium.
