AC Milan winger Rafael Leao has stated that he will continue talks about his contract situation after the World Cup.
The 23-year-old played a key role in Milan's Serie A title-winning campaign last season, scoring 11 goals and providing 10 assists in 34 league appearances.
He has carried that impressive form into the current campaign, where he has registered seven goals and nine assists across 20 games in all competitions.
While Leao is currently representing Portugal at the World Cup, he has commented on his club future, with his current contract set to expire in June 2024.
As quoted by journalist Fabrizio Romano, Leao said: "I will speak to AC Milan about my contract situation once the World Cup is over.
"We had a positive meeting with Paolo Maldini before the World Cup, it was a good one - we'll enter into details after the break."
A recent report indicated that Chelsea were still interested in signing Leao, but they could face competition from Manchester City and their local rivals Manchester United.
Leao has featured as a substitute in both of Portugal's World Cup games, scoring in the opening match against Ghana, and his national side are currently preparing to face South Korea on Friday. body check tags ::
