Raphael Varane will not be transferring outside of France, Lens president Gervais Martel has suggested.
The French centre-back has attracted overseas attention after an impressive season. Manchester United were thought to have offered around €10.5m (£9m) for the player while Real Madrid also reportedly made an approach.
“The asking price is around €10m,” Martel told radio station RMC. “Certain big overseas clubs have offered more, but I quickly shut the door on them.”
Meanwhile, domestic side Paris Saint-Germain have also made an offer.
Varane himself has said that he is flattered that he has attracted attention from major clubs in Europe, but is unsure as to where his future lies.
“I am in full consideration an no decision has been made yet,” he told Goal.com. “What I want is to go to the club that will make me progress the most. Another season in Ligue 1 may be beneficial but there is a choice. There are pros and cons, so it will be for me to decide.”
