Liverpool and Manchester United have reportedly upped their interest in signing Benfica forward Darwin Nunez.
The 22-year-old has just enjoyed the most productive campaign on his career, contributing 32 goals in Portugal's top flight and the Champions League.
Nunez is now expected to move to a bigger European club over the coming week with teams from the Premier League and the continent said to be monitoring the situation.
According to FootballTransfers, representatives of the Uruguay international have been holding discussions with several English teams, including Liverpool and United.
Although continuing to play in the Champions League is said to be a priority for Nunez, the report suggests that Nunez could be tempted to make the switch to Old Trafford.
Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur are also allegedly admirers of the player, although it remains to be seen whether they are capable of acting as genuine competition to their fellow top-flight clubs.
