Liverpool and Manchester United are reportedly keeping a close eye on Jamal Musiala's situation at Bayern Munich, with the youngster recently hinting at a future move to the Premier League.

The 19-year-old spent time with Southampton and Chelsea as a youngster before joining Bayern in 2019, with his first-team debut for the Bundesliga giants coming in June 2020.

Musiala has since represented his German club on 85 occasions in all competitions, contributing 20 goals and nine assists in the process.

The Germany international has been a key player for Bayern this term, making seven appearances in all competitions, contributing five goals and two assists in the process.

Musiala, who represented England at youth level, has a contract at Allianz Arena until June 2026, but he recently opened the door on a future move to the Premier League.

"Playing [my] whole career at FC Bayern? Many factors come together," Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano quoted the youngster as saying. "I'm very happy at Bayern. You never know what will happen in six to seven years.

"Premier League? Really strong league, big stars go there. But... no idea, now I'm at Bayern. [It's a] super top club."

According to TEAMtalk, both Liverpool and Man United are keeping a close eye on the situation, having been given encouragement that the player is open to a return to England.

Musiala was also in strong form for Bayern during the 2021-22 campaign, scoring eight goals and registering six assists in 40 appearances in all competitions.

The youngster has largely operated off the left for his Bundesliga club this season, but he is also capable of playing as a central attacking midfielder.

Man United are well-stocked in the wide positions, having added Antony to their squad over the summer, with the Brazilian joining the likes of Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, Anthony Elanga, Alejandro Garnacho and Jadon Sancho as options on the right and left.

Liverpool, meanwhile, have Mohamed Salah, Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota and Fabio Carvalho as options in the wide areas, but Sadio Mane left over the summer to join Bayern.

Musiala, who was born in Germany before moving to England with his family at the age of seven, represented Chelsea for eight years before leaving at the age of 16.

The attacker will be bidding to continue his impressive start to the season when Bayern face Stuttgart in the Bundesliga on Saturday afternoon. body check tags ::
