Manchester United striker Federico Macheda has revealed that he will only leave the club for a loan spell in the Premier League.
The 20-year-old has only made two appearances from the bench this season and as a result has been linked with a temporary move away from Old Trafford.
The Italian spent part of last season on loan back in his homeland with Sampdoria.
However, he struggled to gain regular minutes on the pitch and returned to United in May.
"Now I do not feel right to return to Italy because my time at Samp went very badly," Macheda told lalaziosiamonoi.it.
"Even at the level of adaptation was very hard.
"Then the team was not right, so it is hard to think of returning to Italy in January, instead to remain in England to play a little more here."
Wigan Athletic have been touted as potential suitors for Macheda.
