Real Madrid are reportedly prepared to pay David de Gea a signing-on fee of £12m should he see out the remainder of his Manchester United contract and leave the club on a free next summer.

United are yet to receive the required bid from the Spanish giants, and it is thought that Los Blancos are positioned to wait until next summer to land the stopper on a free transfer.

The Mirror suggests that Madrid are willing to hand the Spanish international an impressive financial sum should he sit out the remaining year of his contract at Old Trafford.

De Gea is yet to appear for United this season, as Louis van Gaal has opted to use new keeper Sergio Romero.
