Manchester City and rivals Manchester United are reportedly prepared to offer Tottenham Hotspur talisman Harry Kane £80m over a five-year contract.
The 27-year-old striker is understood to have asked to leave the club this summer amid interest from City, United and London rivals Chelsea.
Kane has yet to win a major honour with Spurs and has publicly expressed his desire to win silverware and compete regularly in the Champions League.
According to The Sun, both City and United are prepared to hand him a five-year contract with a £300,000-a-week salary, £70,000 more than what he is currently earning at Tottenham.
Agreeing a wage package with Kane is not expected to be a problem with either club, but negotiating a transfer fee with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy, who values the striker at around £150m, may prove to be a stumbling block.
The England captain reportedly has his sights set on a summer move to Man City, who claimed their third Premier League title in four years earlier this month, although Pep Guardiola's side are also understood to be interested in Borussia Dortmund star Erling Braut Haaland.
Kane is currently level with Liverpool's Mohamed Salah as the Premier League's top scorer with 22 goals so far this season, taking his overall tally in the division to 165, which puts him seventh on the all-time list and 95 strikes behind Alan Shearer at the top. body check tags ::
