Manchester United have reportedly agreed a fee with Borussia Dortmund for the services of Shinji Kagawa.
The Japanese international is now believed to be in the process of discussing personal terms with the Red Devils.
United will pay an initial £12m for the 23-year-old, which could rise by an extra £5m depending on appearances and success, according to BBC Sport.
Manager Sir Alex Ferguson is said to be an admirer of Kagawa's talent, having made a personal check on the attacking midfielder earlier this month.
Kagawa found the net on 13 occasions last season.
