Manchester United are reportedly hoping to conclude a £40m deal for Ajax attacker Antony on Tuesday.
The 22-year-old enjoyed an impressive 2021-22 campaign for his Dutch club, scoring 12 goals and registering 10 assists in 32 appearances in all competitions.
The Brazil international struck eight goals and four assists in 23 Eredivisie outings, while he also provided two goals and four assists in seven Champions League appearances.
Antony's future has been the subject of much speculation in recent months, with new Man United head coach Erik ten Hag said to be keen to bring him to Old Trafford.
Meanwhile, Bayern Munich have also allegedly been showing an interest, although the German champions have now secured the signing of Sadio Mane from Liverpool.
According to The Sun, Man United are now closing in on the signature of the South American, who is expected to cost the club in the region of £40m.
The report claims that officials from the 20-time English champions are due in Amsterdam on Tuesday with a view to securing the signing of the forward.
"I want to thank you for everything you taught me. Know that I will always stand with you if you need me," Antony posted on social media when Ten Hag left to take the Red Devils job.
The attacker has scored 22 goals and registered 20 assists in 78 appearances for Ajax since joining the Dutch giants from Sao Paulo in July 2020.
Antony largely operates as a right-sided forward, which has been a problem position for Man United over the last few years, with Jadon Sancho, who was signed to fill that area, playing on the left for the majority of last term.
Man United remain in talks with Barcelona over a big-money deal for Frenkie de Jong, while the Red Devils are believed to have offered a contract to Christian Eriksen.
The club are said to have suffered a blow in their pursuit of Antony's teammate Jurrien Timber, with the Netherlands international allegedly making the decision to stay at Ajax.
However, Villarreal's Pau Torres continues to be linked with a switch to Old Trafford, while Lisandro Martinez is said to be back on their radar following news of Timber's desirer to remain in Amsterdam.
Ten Hag is believed to be desperate to have at least some of the club's new signings in place for the start of their pre-season tour next month, which begins with a clash against Liverpool on July 12.
The 20-time English champions will open their 2022-23 Premier League campaign, meanwhile, with a clash against Brighton & Hove Albion on August 7. body check tags ::
