Chelsea are allegedly prepared to go head to head with Manchester United for the signature of Lyon forward Moussa Dembele in this summer's transfer window.
Both English clubs were linked with the 23-year-old throughout January, but the former Fulham youngster ultimately remained with his French club.
There remains widespread speculation surrounding the Frenchman's future, though, and according to The Mirror, Chelsea are ready to battle United for his services at the end of the 2019-20 campaign.
The report claims that Lyon value Dembele in excess of £60m with the forward impressing since arriving at the club from Celtic in the summer of 2018.
In all competitions, the former France Under-21 international has scored 38 times in 79 outings for Les Gones, including 18 goals in 33 appearances during the 2019-20 campaign.
Both Chelsea and United are currently short in the final third of the field, although Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side secured a six-month loan deal for Odion Ighalo before the winter transfer window closed for business.
