Manchester United have reportedly reignited their interest in Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes ahead of the January transfer window.
Manager Jose Mourinho has previously made attempts to sign the 24-year-old, who turned down offers from the Premier League to link up with Barca in 2016.
However, Gomes has failed to establish himself at Camp Nou, with just three starts and 10 substitute outings being made in La Liga and the Champions League this season.
According to Don Balon, his lack of appearances has encouraged Mourinho to make another move for the Portuguese international and a fee of £31m will be deemed enough by the Barca hierarchy.
United are well stocked for central midfielders but with Michael Carrick not being used since September and Marouane Fellaini being linked with a move away from Old Trafford, Mourinho may require replacements.
