Manchester United have reportedly reduced their interest in signing Sevilla defender Jules Kounde during the summer transfer window.

Having impressed during his two seasons at the La Liga outfit, Kounde has been heavily linked with a switch to the Premier League.

However, according to journalist Dean Jones, Old Trafford is unlikely to be his next destination with United preferring to focus on other targets.

Speaking to The Done Deal Show, Jones suggested that Villarreal's Pau Torres was on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's radar, while it has been claimed elsewhere that Real Madrid's Raphael Varane is also high on United's shortlist.

The alleged development will be regarded as a boost to the likes of Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, who are said to be considering an approach for the France international.

Sevilla may be open to parting ways with the 22-year-old for a fee in the region of £50m. body check tags ::
