Real Madrid have reportedly pulled out of the race to sign Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek.
The Spanish giants were allegedly set to battle Manchester United for the signature of the Netherlands international during this summer's transfer window.
However, according to De Telegraaf, Zinedine Zidane's side are no longer in the running for the 23-year-old and are currently looking at other potential signings in a midfield position.
Former United goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar, who is Ajax's chief executive, recently revealed that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's team were interested in Van de Beek's services.
Meanwhile, Ajax youth coach Ronald de Boer has suggested that the Dutchman could be on his way to the 20-time English champions ahead of the 2020-21 campaign.
Van de Beek enjoyed an impressive 2019-20 campaign for Ajax, scoring 10 times and registering 11 assists in 37 appearances in all competitions.
