Manchester United are reportedly in a strong position to sign Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham during next summer's transfer window.

There was speculation surrounding the 19-year-old's future during the recent market, but BVB never entertained the idea of a sale, having allowed Erling Braut Haaland to leave in the same window.

Bellingham still has another three years left to run on his contract with Dortmund, but it is widely thought that he will leave the German side in a big-money deal next summer.

Liverpool continue to be strongly linked with the England international, and the Reds are said to be among the favourites to sign him ahead of the 2023-24 campaign.

However, according to Sky Deutschland journalist Florian Plettenberg, Man United also have a 'very good chance' of signing the teenager next summer.

"He's an upcoming superstar player. I am totally convinced he will leave Dortmund in 2023, maybe to Liverpool, maybe to Manchester United," said the journalist.

"I think these are two teams that have very good chances to get him. He's an amazing player, amazing character. Very good personality."

Last season, Bellingham scored six goals and provided 14 assists in 44 appearances in all competitions, while he has started the 2022-23 campaign with two goals in eight outings.

The Englishman has been in impressive form for BVB since his arrival from Birmingham City in 2020, contributing 12 goals and 18 assists in 98 appearances in all competitions.

Real Madrid have also been heavily linked with the youngster, with the Spanish outfit allegedly viewing him as a possible replacement for Casemiro, who joined Man United over the summer.

Dortmund's valuation of Bellingham is said to be in the region of £100m, with the teenager proving himself in a top European league, in addition to impressing in the Champions League.

However, BVB director Sebastian Kehl recently said that the German club were hopeful of keeping him beyond next summer despite the recent speculation.

Kehl told Sky90: "I hope that Jude Bellingham will stay at BVB beyond 2023. I can see he feels super comfortable with us."

Bellingham has scored four goals and registered 11 assists in 67 Bundesliga appearances for Dortmund, while he has provided three goals and four assists in 17 Champions League games.

The midfielder is currently with the BVB squad in England preparing for Wednesday's Champions League contest with Premier League champions Manchester City. body check tags ::
