The Manchester United coaching staff are reportedly worried that Wilfried Zaha does not possess the mental toughness to succeed at a leading club.
The English champions signed the winger from Crystal Palace for £15m in January, but he stayed with the Eagles for the remainder of the campaign and played a key role in their promotion to the top flight.
However, since then, the 21-year-old has made just two senior appearances for the Red Devils - one in the Community Shield against Wigan Athletic and the other in a recent Capital One Cup tie with Norwich City.
It had been reported that he could be loaned out to another Premier League side, but potential suitors have started to be put off by United's concerns, according to the Daily Mail.
The report added that United believe that he has the necessary ability to be an asset to the club, but only if he can alter his frame of mind.
Newcastle United are among the sides who have been linked with a move for the youngster.
