Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim wants the Red Devils to sign Paris Saint-Germain attacker Randal Kolo Muani in January.

Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim is reportedly keen for the Red Devils to sign Paris Saint-Germain attacker Randal Kolo Muani before the end of the January transfer window.

The 26-year-old has found it difficult to make his mark for the French champions this season, only managing two goals and one assist in 14 appearances, and he is free to leave on an initial loan deal this month.

According to The Telegraph, Man United are very much in the hunt for the France international, with their head coach Amorim believing that he would be the ideal addition to a struggling attack.

The report claims that Amorim wants a forward capable of 'timing runs in behind defences' due to Rasmus Hojlund's struggles in that area, and that is viewed as one of the main strengths of the PSG attacker.

Kolo Muani's pace and strength, in addition to his versatility, also make him attractive for Man United, with the 20-time English champions potentially allowing both Marcus Rashford and Joshua Zirkzee to leave this month.

However, it has been claimed that Kolo Muani could arrive even if Rashford and Zirkzee remain, with a loan deal for the Frenchman possible despite Man United's well-documented issues when it comes to financial regulations.

Amorim 'keen for Man United to sign Kolo Muani'

Man United are far from the only club in the mix for Kolo Muani, though, with Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea, Juventus and Aston Villa also said to be keeping a close eye on his situation in France.

The forward scored 26 times and registered 17 assists in 50 appearances for Eintracht Frankfurt before making the move to Paris, but he has struggled to show his best form in the French capital.

Kolo Muani only has 11 goals and seven assists in 54 appearances for Luis Enrique's side, and he is available this month, providing that the Ligue 1 team receive a suitable offer for his services.

What do PSG want in order for Kolo Muani to leave?

According to German journalist Florian Plettenberg, Enrique has given Kolo Muani permission to leave, but PSG are remaining firm when it comes to their position on the versatile attacker.

Indeed, Plettenberg claims that the Frenchman can leave on loan in January, but an obligation to buy must be included, with clubs having to commit to a permanent transfer at the end of the campaign.

Man United will sign a striker this year, with Sporting Lisbon's Viktor Gyokeres thought to be their top target, so it is difficult to imagine the Red Devils agreeing to a permanent Kolo Muani move later this year.

That said, Kolo Muani was a target for Man United before Hojlund arrived at Old Trafford, and with the 20-time English champions long-term admirers of the forward, a switch to the club in January cannot be ruled out. body check tags ::
