Manchester United have reportedly held talks with Edinson Cavani as they look to convince the striker to stay beyond this season.
The 34-year-old's future was cast into doubt when his father revealed that his son did not feel comfortable in England.
Uruguay's assistant head coach Mario Rebollo also added to the clamour for Cavani to leave when he said that the striker must move somewhere he can find better 'rhythm and competition'.
According to the Daily Mail, United's newly-appointed director of football John Murtough and executive vice chairman Ed Woodward met with the Uruguayan on Tuesday to discuss whether he would like to extend his contract for another year.
The former Paris Saint-Germain and Napoli striker is aware that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's priority is to sign another centre forward this summer, and he is now concerned at the amount of game time he will receive.
Cavani has made 26 appearances for the Red Devils in all competitions so far this campaign, scoring seven goals and providing two assists. body check tags ::
