Manchester United have reportedly targeted Valencia full-back Jose Luis Gaya as a replacement for Juventus-bound Matteo Darmian.
The Red Devils are expected to sanction Darmian's exit at the end of the season, having used the Italian defender for a combined 847 minutes in all competitions this term.
Tuttosport suggests that Gaya has emerged as Jose Mourinho's top target to fill the void, with the Spain Under-21s international standing out in his 29 appearances for Valencia in 2017-18.
United will only make a formal approach for the 22-year-old once Darmian moves on, though, which could mean increased competition from elsewhere.
Gaya has spent his entire career with Los Che, emerging through the academy ranks in 2012 and making over 100 league outings since then.
