Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing Borussia Dortmund centre-back Manuel Akanji.

The 23-year-old's future at the Westfalenstadion is believed to be uncertain, with less than 18 months remaining on his contract.

According to SPORT1's chief reporter Patrick Berger, Akanji has rejected Dortmund's latest contract offer with a salary worth €9.5m (£8m) per year.

Berger also claims that Man United are 'very keen' to sign the Switzerland international, who is valued at around €30m (£25.3m).

The potential arrival of Akanji at Old Trafford would see the defender reunite with former teammate Jadon Sancho, who played alongside him during his four-year stint in Germany.

Akanji has played 148 times for Dortmund across all competitions, including 26 appearances this campaign. body check tags ::
