Manchester United are reportedly exploring the possibility of signing Nice midfielder Khephren Thuram during this summer's transfer window.

The Frenchman started his professional career with Monaco before moving to Nice in 2019, and he has represented his current side on 129 occasions in all competitions, contributing eight goals and 11 assists.

Thuram has been a key player for his French side during the 2022-23 campaign, featuring on 39 occasions, scoring twice and registering eight assists in the process.

According to 90min, Man United are keen on the midfielder, who made his international debut for France as a late substitute in Friday's 4-0 success over the Netherlands.

The report claims that the Red Devils are likely to face a host of competition for Thuram, with Liverpool and Newcastle United also keen to bring him to the Premier League.

Meanwhile, Paris Saint-Germain, Inter Milan and Juventus are said to be keeping a close eye on his performances for Nice.

Thuram was asked about his future during a press conference while on international duty and insisted that he is "very happy" with his current situation.

"I hear, but I don't concentrate on it. I am with Nice. I am very happy where I am," he told reporters.

"I am trying to get bigger with the club. I am trying to grow up with the club. So, yeah, obviously I hear it [the interest] but it's not the most important. The most important is to do good with the team and be happy where I am."

Man United are expected to prioritise the signing of a new centre-forward during this summer's transfer window, but the club are also set to bring in at least one central midfielder, with Scott McTominay potentially being allowed to depart.

Thuram is likely to represent a cheaper option than either Borussia Dortmund's Jude Bellingham or West Ham United's Declan Rice, with both players potentially costing in the region of £100m.

Nice are in a strong position to demand a high fee this summer, though, with the midfielder having a contract at Allianz Riviera until June 2025.

Thuram is the son of former France international Lilian Thuram, while his older brother is Marcus Thuram, who is currently with Borussia Monchengladbach. body check tags ::
