Manchester United have reportedly joined the race to re-sign Jonny Evans from West Bromwich Albion.
The 29-year-old came through the ranks at Old Trafford and spent nine years in the senior team before departing for The Hawthorns in 2015.
Since leaving United, Evans has become an indispendable player for both West Brom and Northern Ireland, sparking interest from some of the Premier League's top clubs.
According to The Mirror, Jose Mourinho has earmarked Evans for a January move as a replacement for Eric Bailly, who has been ruled out for at least three months following ankle surgery.
The report claims that Mourinho deemed Louis van Gaal's decision to sell the defender a mistake but is aware of potential competition from the likes of Manchester City and Arsenal.
Evans, who has made 80 appearances for West Brom, is contracted to the Midlands club until June 2019.
