Manchester United are reportedly ready to make an official bid for Benfica defender Ruben Dias.
Despite having spent £80m in the summer to sign Leicester City's Harry Maguire, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer still wants to add another new centre-back to his squad.
According to Record, that will see United make an official approach for Dias, either in January or at the end of the season.
With Dias due to pen a new contract at Benfica, the Premier League giants face the prospect of paying £79m - rather than £59m - to activate the Portugal international's updated release clause.
Nevertheless, the report indicates that United have made a final decision on who they view as Maguire's long-term partner in the middle of the backline.
The North-West outfit will likely face fierce competition from other top European clubs in the race for the 22-year-old.
