Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen may be heading for the exit this week despite the English summer transfer window closing on Friday night, according to a report.

The Red Devils had a busy summer, which began with outmanoeuvring Real Madrid and Liverpool for the signing of Leny Yoro before bringing in Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna.

Thereafter, Erik ten Hag's side struck a deal with Bayern Munich for defensive duo Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui as a replacements for Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Raphael Varane.

United would have thought they had concluded their transfer business with the acquisition of Manuel Ugarte on deadline day but it seems there could be one more player leaving Old Trafford in the coming days.

Anderlecht eyeing up move for Eriksen

According to a report from Het Belang van Limburg, Belgian outfit Anderlecht are eyeing up a move for Eriksen, who is seemingly not a part of Ten Hag's plans this season.

Anderlecht's chief executive Jesper Fredberg is believed to be a long-time admirer of the Denmark international and is eager to sign him as soon as possible.

While the window in England closed last week, Saudi and Dutch clubs have until Monday night to confirm new signings, while Belgian sides have until September 6.

Since Eriksen arrived at Old Trafford from Brentford in 2022, only Bruno Fernandes has provided more assists in the Premier League for the Red Devils.

The midfielder has contributed three goals and 13 assists in 72 matches across all competitions for Manchester United so far.

Man United departures this summer

Eriksen may turn out to be the latest to depart Old Trafford this summer but the Red Devils have parted ways with several others in the last few months.

Arguably, the most notable exit was that of Jadon Sancho, who joined Chelsea on a season-long loan on deadline day after failing to make the matchday squad for United's opening games of the new season.

Academy graduate Scott McTominay was also moved on ahead of Friday's deadline and has now settled in Napoli under Antonio Conte.

Additionally, Mason Greenwood, Wan-Bissaka, Hannibal Mejbri and Donny van de Beek were the other first-team players who have pursued challenges elsewher
