Manchester United have reportedly been offered Mauro Icardi as part of a deal which would take Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan in this summer's transfer window.
Lukaku continues to be linked with a move away from Old Trafford and Inter are said to be the favourites to land the Belgium international ahead of the 2019-20 campaign.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter are prepared to use Icardi, who scored 17 times in 37 appearances for his Italian club during the 2018-19 season, as a makeweight in a possible deal for Lukaku.
Icardi was stripped of the captain's armband in February as his relationship with the Serie A giants soured.
The 26-year-old eventually returned to the team following a knee injury, but only played the full 90 minutes in two of Inter's last nine league matches of the campaign.
Icardi - left out of the Argentina squad for the 2019 Copa America - has scored 124 times in 219 appearances for I Nerazzurri since a 2013 switch from Sampdoria.
