Manchester United senior players urge Jadon Sancho to apologise to Red Devils head coach Erik ten Hag, according to a report.

Manchester United players have reportedly urged Jadon Sancho to apologise to Red Devils head coach Erik ten Hag in a bid to end the ongoing stand-off between the two individuals.

Ten Hag said last month that the 23-year-old had been left out of the Arsenal clash at the Emirates Stadium due to some under-par performances on the training ground.

However, Sancho hit back at his manager's comments on X, formerly known as Twitter, claiming that he had been made "a scapegoat" at the club this season.

The England international has not featured since, while he has also been removed from the first-team picture entirely, meaning that he does not train with the senior side at the Carrington complex and is also unable to use any first-team facilities, including the canteen.

There is allegedly no chance of Ten Hag altering his stance, while Sancho has thus far showed no willingness to say sorry to his manager for effectively branding him a liar.

According to The Guardian, senior members of the Red Devils squad have urged Sancho to apologise to Ten Hag in the hope that he can be brought back into the squad to help the team.

The report claims that, if an apology is not issued, then Sancho will leave in January, most likely on loan due to the complexities surrounding a permanent move in the middle of the campaign.

Borussia Dortmund are said to be ready to make a loan offer for their former player, while Juventus and Barcelona are among the clubs to be credited with an interest.

Ten Hag, at this stage, is allegedly open to bringing Sancho back in and attempting to rebuild the relationship providing that the player offers a sincere apology.

However, according to ESPN, some members of staff believe that the forward's career under Ten Hag is over.

The report claims that an apology at this stage 'would mean very little', as more than six weeks have passed since the incident occurred in the aftermath of the Arsenal clash.

Sancho will again be absent for Man United's Premier League clash with Sheffield United on Saturday, when the club will be aiming to make it successive victories.

The forward has missed his side's last five league games, in addition to both group fixtures in the Champions League, and the EFL Cup third-round contest with Crystal Palace.

Sancho, who is also not currently in the plans of England boss Gareth Southgate, has another three years left to run on his contract at Old Trafford, with the option of an additional 12 months. body check tags ::
