Manchester United are reportedly preparing a £67m bid for Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos.
Last week, it was alleged that United had told Los Blancos that they would want Kroos as part of any potential deal for Paul Pogba during the January transfer window.
The Red Devils are said to have made an offer for the Germany international during the summer, only for the experienced midfielder to sign a new long-term deal at the Bernabeu.
According to Bild, though, United are still determined to secure a deal for the 29-year-old, who had been widely tipped to move to Old Trafford during David Moyes's time in charge of the club.
United are currently short of options in the middle of the park following Marouane Fellaini's departure in January and Ander Herrera's summer exit.
Pogba stayed with the club beyond the transfer deadline despite a host of speculation, but the France international will miss Saturday's clash with Leicester City through injury.
