Manchester United are reportedly prepared to treble Kobbie Mainoo's current salary as they look to tie him down to a new deal.
The young midfielder signed a long-term contract in January 2023 to keep him at Old Trafford until June 2027, with an option to extend by a further year.
Mainoo penned his current deal before making a senior appearance for the club, but he has since gone on to establish himself as part of the first-team squad.
The 18-year-old is currently enjoying a breakout season with Erik ten Hag's side, having started each of the club's last 14 Premier League matches.
Mainoo also registered his first Premier League goal last month when he netted a stoppage-time winner in a 4-3 away victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers.
With Mainoo now regarded as an important part of the first-team setup, the Red Devils are keen to open talks with the teenager over signing a new contract.
According to The Mirror, Man United are willing to offer Mainoo an improved deal which would see him treble his current salary.
The teenager recently saw his wages automatically increase to £20,000 a week when he made his 10th first-team appearance.
However, he is now set to be rewarded with another pay increase, with Man United hoping to extend his contract until the summer of 2030.
The report also claims that Man United's proposal will include a series of clauses that could make him one of the club's highest earners if he continues on his upward trajectory.
Mainoo's performances at club level have led to calls from some quarters for him to be included in Gareth Southgate's England squad for the upcoming friendlies against Brazil and Belgium.
The Man United academy product will currently be focused on preparing for next weekend's FA Cup quarter-final against Liverpool.
Mainoo started in the third and fourth rounds before he featured as a late substitute in the fifth-round victory over Nottingham Forest. body check tags ::
