Manchester United are reportedly prepared to wait until the end of the 2019-20 campaign to sign Denmark international Christian Eriksen on a free transfer.
The 27-year-old is believed to have made it clear to Tottenham Hotspur that he will not be signing a new deal at the club.
As it stands, the attacker would be free to discuss a pre-contract with foreign clubs at the start of 2020, with his current deal due to expire at the end of the campaign.
According to The Telegraph, Spurs would sell Eriksen for the right price during the January transfer window, but United are ready to wait until next summer to land the Dane on a free.
The report adds that, contrary to claims, the Red Devils believe that they are in a good position to sign Eriksen despite interest from the likes of Juventus and Real Madrid.
The former Ajax playmaker has only scored three times in 22 appearances for Spurs this term.
