Manchester United have reportedly been priced out of a move for Erling Braut Haaland, with Manchester City now the favourites to sign the Borussia Dortmund striker.
Haaland has been in excellent form for BVB during the 2020-21 campaign, scoring 31 times in 29 appearances in all competitions, including 10 goals in six Champions League outings.
Man United continue to be strongly linked with the 20-year-old, who has a close relationship with Red Devils manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer following their time together at Molde.
However, according to the Daily Mail, the 20-time English champions will struggle to compete financially for the Norway international as his £90m buy-out clause must be paid in one instalment.
The report claims that Man United are also wary of dealing with Haaland's agent Mino Raiola and his father Alf-Inge Haaland, meaning that a move to Old Trafford is unlikely at this stage.
Man City are believed to have already made contact with the youngster's camp over a possible switch and are ahead of the likes of Chelsea and Real Madrid when it comes to the race for his signature. body check tags ::
