Manchester United are reportedly calm surrounding the future of Alejandro Garnacho despite suggestions that Real Madrid are keen on the teenager's signature.

The 18-year-old is having a breakthrough campaign for the Red Devils, scoring twice and providing two assists in eight appearances for the club in 2022-23.

Garnacho recently netted his first senior goal against Real Sociedad in the Europa League before registering his first Premier League goal in the team's last match, with his late strike securing a 2-1 win over Fulham.

The Argentine has another 18 months left to run on his current deal, with the option of a further year, but Man United are said to be in talks with the youngster's representatives over a long-term agreement.

A recent report claimed that Real Madrid are keen on the forward, with Carlo Ancelotti's side keeping a close eye on his contract situation.

However, according to the Manchester Evening News, the 20-time English champions 'remain relaxed' over the South American's future.

The report claims that the English giants are in 'no rush' to come to an agreement with Garnacho over a new deal, but they are confident that he will pen a long-term contract in the near future.

There were suggestions that the youngster's form this season could earn him a spot in the Argentina squad for the 2022 World Cup, but he was ultimately left out of the selection.

As a result, Garnacho has been with the Man United squad in Spain, with the Red Devils playing two mid-season friendlies against Cadiz and Real Betis before returning to Manchester.

The English club's goalkeeper David de Gea issued a hands-off warning to Real Madrid when he was asked about the interest in Garnacho following Man United's 1-0 loss to Real Betis.

"We won't let him leave," De Gea told reporters, as he walked through the mixed zone.

Garnacho scored 16 goals and registered eight assists in 31 appearances for Man United Under-18s, while he has netted five times and registered two assists in 16 matches for Man United Under-21s.

The attacker is now set to remain with the first team on a permanent basis, though, developing into an important player for Erik ten Hag's side ahead of the break for the World Cup.

Garnacho started his youth career with Getafe before joining Atletico Madrid in 2015, spending five years with the Red and Whites ahead of a switch to Old Trafford.
