Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly suffered a setback in their pursuit of Brentford goalkeeper David Raya, with clubs in La Liga set to rival the Premier League sides for his signature.
The Brentford stopper has spent 11 years in England, including the last four with the Bees, helping them to promotion from the Championship under Thomas Frank.
However, after rejecting contract extensions at Brentford, Raya has been linked with a move away from West London.
The Telegraph claims that his recent involvement with the Spanish national team has sparked interest from some of La Liga's top clubs, meaning Premier League sides may have to battle to get Raya this summer.
Spurs are reportedly looking for a successor to Hugo Lloris as he comes towards the end of his career, while David de Gea has rejected a new contract from Manchester United.
De Gea's deal runs out at the end of the season and he is seemingly unwilling to accept a reduction to his current wage by rejecting Man United's recent proposal.
