Manchester United are preparing a bid for Aston Villa midfielder John McGinn, according to a report.
Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is said to have targeted the 24-year-old as he feels his squad lacks dynamism in the middle of the park.
After carrying out a number of background checks, The Sun claims that United are now ready to make a formal approach.
However, it is suggested that Villa are not prepared to sell one of their key men for anything less than £50m.
McGinn cost the Villans just £2.75m to sign from Hibernian a year ago and he went on to win the club's Players' Player of the Year award in his debut season after scoring in the playoff final win against Derby County.
