Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is reportedly keen to fix his leaky defence by bringing in Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli in the January transfer window.
The Red Devils have made signing a new centre-back their top priority for the New Year, having missed out on the likes of Harry Maguire, Toby Alderweireld, Yerry Mina and Jerome Boateng in the summer.
According to The Mirror, Koulibaly is high up on Mourinho's wishlist and the Portuguese would like the 27-year-old integrated into his squad in January.
Napoli are said to be after around £89m for the Senegal international, however, meaning that the Red Devils may have to wait until next summer before renegotiating.
Koulibaly has previously seen a move to Chelsea collapse and is open to joining a Premier League club.
Despite keeping a clean sheet against Crystal Palace on Saturday, United have shipped 21 goals in their opening 12 league games.
