Manchester United could reportedly move for Ajax forward Brian Brobbey during this summer's transfer window.
The 20-time English champions were linked with the Dutchman during Erik ten Hag's first transfer window as head coach, with the striker playing under the Man United boss in Amsterdam.
According to The Mirror, Ten Hag remains keen on the 21-year-old, and the Red Devils could reignite their interest this summer, with a forward addition seen as a priority for the club.
Man United are still said to have full confidence in Rasmus Hojlund, who has six goals for the club this season, but reinforcements will be needed, as Anthony Martial is set to leave on a free transfer.
Ten Hag is reportedly confident that he will keep his job at Old Trafford despite the team's struggles this season, and he is already planning for the summer, with Brobbey seen as an ideal signing to boost the squad.
Arsenal are also believed to be keen on the Netherlands international, but the presence of Ten Hag at Old Trafford means that the Red Devils are in the driving seat.
Brobbey came through the youth system at Ajax before moving to RB Leipzig in 2021, but he struggled to settle with the German outfit, failing to score in 14 appearances, before heading back to Amsterdam on loan.
The forward scored seven Eredivisie goals in the second half of the 2021-22 campaign to help Ten Hag's Ajax side win the title, and he then managed 14 goals in all competitions for the club last term.
Brobbey has continued his impressive scoring form this season, finding the back of the net on 12 times in 24 appearances, in addition to contributing four assists.
The striker has scored 39 goals and registered 11 assists in 100 outings for Ajax in all competitions, and he has a contract in Amsterdam until June 2027.
Ajax are thought to be expecting offers for Brobbey this summer, and they will hold out for the best possible price for a player who made his Netherlands debut last October.
Ten Hag would ideally want a new forward to arrive this month, but the club are working to a strict budget due to the rules surrounding Financial Fair Play.
Jadon Sancho's loan move to Borussia Dortmund has now been confirmed, but Martial is said to be refusing to leave the 20-time English champions this month.
As a result, the Red Devils are likely to wait until the end of the season to bring in a new forward to complement Hojlund, while the club are also expected to target a centre-back and a central midfielder this summer.
